Effects of Callus Cell Suspension Cultures and Elicitor Applications on Bioactive Components in Globe Artichoke [Cynara cardunculus var. scolymus (L.) Fiori]

Globe artichoke [Cynara cardunculus var. scolymus (L.) Fiori] has many health-protecting properties due to its valuable bioactive components which are not stable and produced in high amounts the raw plant material nature. These that gaining interest can be increased thanks contribution of vitro techniques, such as callus cell suspension cultures, various new applications elicitor treatments. Present study aimed determined three globe cultivars by using cultures media combinations applying two treatments, namely methyl jasmonate chitosan, at 3 different concentrations (methyl 50 µM, 100 200 µM; chitosan mg L-1, 400 800 L-1) with application durations (24h, 48h, 72h).
